You've come here because you're suffering in some way. It is my honour to be able to offer a therapy space for people who want to face the pain in their lives, and see what might be on the other side. Many people come at times of change or transition: relationships, life stages, careers, dark nights of the soul, or plunges into the deep end. Or, people come feeling stuck after years of coping with trauma and addiction. In sessions, I support you to identify the conflicts, emotions, memories, and relationship struggles that repeat and we find ways to experience these differently.

I work with people who are suffering which can take many forms - loss, trauma, grief, substance use, relationship breakdowns , lack of meaning and life transitions.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked as a therapist in women’s prisons, a psychiatric addiction hospital, and community clinics. I am an active, engaged therapist not someone who simply sits back and listens. I offer reflection, insight, challenge, and collaboration so we can work together in a way that supports meaningful change.

During our sessions, we put our minds together to give you our undivided, focused attention. I listen to you on many levels. I attend to the words you use, the patterns of your stories and what is not said. It is a deep and curious listening. I help you find the courage to see yourself with clarity and honesty. My strength as a therapist is understanding the unique felt experience of each person I see. This forms the basis of our work together and the place from which we make sense of the difficulties that bring you to therapy.

I help adults navigate complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, grief, and life transitions.
Adults navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of early attachment experiences often find their way to me — sometimes surfacing as emotional ups and downs, self-doubt, or trouble trusting others. Many arrive during a life transition, when old patterns resurface and current coping strategies no longer feel like enough. Together, we slow down, make sense of your patterns, and build a steadier, more secure relationship with the self and others — so you can move through change with more clarity and self-trust.

Therapy offers a space to better understand these experiences, develop insight and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we explore the experiences, beliefs and coping patterns that may be influencing your wellbeing, relationships and sense of self.

I work with people who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain, and who are seeking more than a quick fix. Often, the people that I work with are thoughtful, sensitive, and curious about themselves and their relationships, and have a sense that there is something deeper to be understood about themselves. They may be struggling with recurring patterns, emotional pain, or difficulties that feel hard to explain. In our work together, I offer a steady, reflective space to explore these experiences, supporting greater self-understanding and the possibility of meaningful, lasting change.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
