I greatly enjoy discussing raising children with other parents.
Life doesn’t always go the way we expect. Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. My approach is practical and collaborative. Together we look at what’s happening in your life right now, understand the patterns shaping it, and identify realistic steps that help you move forward. I draw on evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling lost, counselling can help you gain clarity, strengthen your inner confidence, and move forward with greater direction.

My clients often seek therapy in times of transition - choosing a career path, moving, navigating relationships and identity, or becoming parents, whilst managing strong family expectations.
Grace is a counsellor and psychotherapist who supports mixed-culture adults, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community as they navigate identity, belonging, and life transitions in a cross-cultural world. You might be carrying the weight of family expectations while longing to live in a way that feels true to you, or raising young families while managing relationships shaped by different cultural upbringings. Over time, this tension can show up as anxiety, guilt, confusion, or a sense of never being “enough”, along with feelings of loneliness and uncertainty about where you truly belong as you work to find your own path.

Hi there. I have over 15 years experience working in mental health & see adolescents & adults. I believe a holistic approach is best for my clients & draw on evidence-based interventions that are tailored to each client. These include: Schema Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy & Mindfulness. I believe in the mind/body connection & so I also integrate somatic approaches to my therapy such as Imagery Rescripting to heal both the mind & the body. However, for this to happen I believe that the client/therapist relationship needs to be paramount & so I strive to create a warm, trusting & safe environment for all my clients.

Feeling you need support outside of your family and friends? Not sure about changing some aspect of your life? I work with couples, adults and older teenagers looking for growth or change. Knowing WHY a pattern keeps showing up or being aware of a trauma or past event that has impacted can be helpful, AND sometimes "why" just isn't enough. Combining Gestalt psychotherapy with SE (Somatic Experiencing), we can begin to shift the patterns that are stored in our bodies - not just our mind memory.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
