This way of working can be particularly helpful to work through unresolved feelings from the past and locate the hidden cause of symptoms; bringing relief from depression, anxiety, somatic disorders, and repetitive relationship issues.
As an experienced therapist, Casey has worked in a range of diverse settings with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Through this experience, Casey has developed a deep understanding of what it means to be human, forming her view that we are unique and complex beings with a desire for connection with self and others, even if this feels difficult.

I'm also trained in Hakomi somatic-based approaches and bring lived experience to my practice.
Hello, I work with individuals, couples and families who may be dealing with loss, grief, traumatic experiences and difficult life transitions. Many wish to explore the way their identity is shaping their sense of self, with or without ASD, ADHD, AuDHD or other diagnoses, and how this is impacting on their relationships. Others wish to develop communication tools to help feel seen, heard and understood. Together we navigate these challenges in a positive, strengths-based way to safely explore internal conflicts, reframe unhelpful thoughts and tune into deeper insights.

Undertaking therapy is a very personal and meaningful journey—whether you're looking to heal trauma, face relationship struggles, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. The growth that can come from this inner work often not only nurtures your own wellbeing but positively impacts those around you. It’s a genuine honour to walk alongside my clients as they navigate challenges, build more self understanding and unlock deeper inner resilience. My work aims to support gentle reconnection—with self and others—especially where early attachment experiences have shaped current ways of relating.

I work holistically, supporting clients at multiple levels of experience, including the emotional, cognitive, relational, and somatic.
I am a relational psychotherapist offering individual and couples therapy in Brunswick, Melbourne. My practice is particularly well suited to people navigating relational or developmental trauma, emotional distress, or a sense of feeling stuck in longstanding patterns. I believe psychotherapy has the potential to be truly transformative, not only in managing symptoms, but in cultivating greater self awareness, agency, emotional freedom, and more connected relationships. This belief is continually reinforced through my clinical work and ongoing training, as well as through my own experience of therapy.

As a Gestalt psychotherapist, I feel genuinely grateful to do work that I love and feel both humbled and honoured to sit with people during some of their most vulnerable and authentic moments. My practice is informed not only by my professional training but also by my own lived experience of a personal therapeutic journey. I understand what it’s like to sit on the other side of the room, and I have a deep appreciation for how difficult life can feel at times. This, coupled with my belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be seen, heard, and understood, is what inspires me to offer accessible and affordable psychotherapy.

In my practice of psychotherapy, I offer a reflective relationship, where we use the body ( somatic therapy) and our relationship (interpersonal therapy), as sources of insight and change.
I see clients as unique individuals with complex and fascinating minds, rather than a prescribed diagnostic category. Through integrative psychotherapy, I combine a range of complementary therapeutic modalities to create tailored treatments plans and include the body, emotions and therapeutic relationship in the therapeutic process.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
