Find that talking about your struggles in therapy hasn’t led to the change you were hoping for—or that symptoms have persisted despite previous treatment and immense effort? You are not alone. I use evidence-based approaches that go beyond talking to address symptoms at their root, prioritising a strong therapeutic relationship and safety throughout the process. I work with people aged 18+ experiencing PTSD and complex-PTSD, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, panic, relationship difficulties and dissociation.

I enjoy working with all kinds of adults and the multitude of difficulties we humans face in our lives and relationships. But my particular skill is in working with people who believe that what they carry is too complex for anyone to help but somehow keep looking for someone who can. I often attract people who need a therapist who both understands "mental illness" through the psychiatric system lens and sees the "symptoms" people experience not as problems but as unique survival adaptations we do not yet understand. I'm happy to work with people who experience suicidality and dissociation and who want to make sense of psychosis.

My ideal clients are individuals and couples ready to explore what's keeping them stuck — in old patterns, relationship struggles, or simply a life that no longer feels their own. Many carry early attachment wounds that quietly shape their present. I work relationally, creating a space where clients feel genuinely safe and heard. Together we explore what drives their patterns, rebuild trust in themselves and others, and find a way forward with greater clarity and freedom.

I also use Internal Family Systems so we can understand what parts of you are struggling and how they relate to one another.
Welcome to Anchor Point Practice. I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in repeating patterns in their relationships, thoughts, or emotional responses. Many of the people I see are experiencing anxiety, overthinking, interpersonal stress, attachment wounds, or major life transitions. They often feel exhausted by the same arguments, disconnection, or internal loops. In our work together, we slow things down to understand the relational patterns underneath the surface — helping you process trauma, build emotional safety, strengthen boundaries, and feel more confident in how you relate to others and to yourself.

I support individuals who have come to a point in their life where things are “just not right”, whether it is a general feeling of dissatisfaction, loss of meaning, or a specific situation causing them significant distress (e.g. issues in relationships, health, workplace,…). Opening a safe space to share what is going on is a first step towards feeling better and moving forward. Sometimes, exploring past events and emotions brings an understanding that can appease and help to let go. When you are ready, I work with you to better understand your context, resources and obstacles, and help you build a more grounded and meaningful life.

I am an Emotion Focused (EFT), Psychodynamic and Existentially trained Psychotherapist working with individuals and couples. These approaches recognise that we are shaped through our relationships, and that meaningful change often occurs within them. This includes how we relate to those close to us, as well as to culture, our past, and our inner experience.

At some point, many of us reach a place where pushing through no longer works. You might feel disconnected from yourself, overwhelmed by responsibility, or unsure how to move forward — even though you’ve tried to cope on your own. I’m Renee, a registered counsellor who believes that feeling understood is often the first step toward real change. I create a space where you can show up exactly as you are — without judgement, pressure, or expectations.

I am a trauma-informed and neurodiverse affirming RI-EMDR therapist and clinical supervisor. I seek to create a deepening awareness of self and enhance connection with others. I work primarily in the areas of complex trauma and dissociation supporting individuals and their loved ones. Exploration of the human condition has always intrigued me. I am curious as to the driving force behind why we do what we do and what determines our path in life. In understanding our life’s journey and what shapes it, we can begin to move towards a more content existence - with a balanced relationship with the world and the connections it brings.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
