My clinical focus, passion and expertise is with neurodivergent youth facing anxiety, social struggles, or identity challenges, often with autism, ADHD, or sensory differences. They feel misunderstood and seek a safe, non-judgmental space to build confidence and resilience. They want practical strategies to manage stress, improve communication and relationships, and achieve goals like school success, self-acceptance, employment and being better understood by those around them. Parents may seek guidance to support them. Their aim is to thrive authentically, feeling empowered in a world that doesn’t always align with their needs.

Feeling emotionally exhausted, depressed, burnt out or anxious takes up a lot of energy and mental space. I meet people everyday who are struggling to feel better, they are at the mercy of their thoughts and are living on auto pilot. Our mind is constantly selling us stories and putting meaning to our experiences; it is the meaning we attach to circumstances, situations and experiences that can cause the suffering. Counselling can help with this! If you have been putting this off and just surviving, this is a sign to reach out for help-and yes, I do believe in signs!

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist helping individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating and binge eating, and body image issues. I work with clients who are ready to overcome their inner critic and the habits that keep them stuck. I work with people who don't want to just focus on diet and weight (although this can be important at times), but also get to the root cause of their relationship with food and their body. Additionally, I support those trapped in patterns of unhelpful relationships, anxiety, self-criticism, perfectionism, and chronic unhappiness, guiding them toward a new, healthier path.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviours that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.
Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioural therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioural change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.
How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.
What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
