Have you ever wondered why you keep repeating the same patterns, even when you know they're not serving you?
Perhaps you're struggling with ADHD, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm or feeling like you're not living up to your potential. Maybe you're seeking support for your child and want to better understand what they're experiencing. You may have tried to make changes before, only to find yourself slipping back into old habits or feeling stuck.
I believe meaningful change comes from understanding the underlying factors driving our thoughts, emotions and behaviours, not just managing symptoms.

Many of the men we work with aren’t in crisis. They’re capable, driven and doing well on paper. But something isn’t working. You might be shutting down in conflict, carrying quiet anger, feeling disconnected from your partner, or unsure who you are outside of work and responsibility. You want to show up better in your relationships, feel more steady in yourself, and stop repeating patterns you know aren’t working. You may have tried pushing through on your own. Now you’re ready for structured support that actually translates into real conversations, real decisions and real change.

Life today demands a lot from us. We're expected to keep up with work, relationships, family and everyone else's needs while somehow not losing ourselves in the process. Over time, it's easy to feel disconnected from yourself, loved ones or the life you once imagined. My clients often face relationship challenges, work stress, anxiety, burnout, trauma or the transition to parenthood – a profound life change that strain even the strongest relationships. My practice welcomes both individuals and couples and is informed by my ongoing PhD research into attachment, relationships and the barriers men face in seeking support.

Hi, I'm Diandra! If you're anything like the clients I work with, you might be coping on the surface, but underneath you feel stuck, overwhelmed by emotions, struggle with the past or are caught in habits that leave you disconnected, guilty or ashamed. You might be drinking, using substances or engaging in other unhelpful behaviours to cope. Maybe you're avoiding difficult feelings or feel exhausted by the same relationship patterns that never seem to shift. If you’re looking to make changes and better understand yourself, I take a practical approach to help you move forward with a focus on what truly matters to you.

Research shows that the therapeutic relationship (e.g., how well you get along with your psychologist) can be just as important as the work we do together. I think therapy should not be rigid and I try to emulate that. I have a very open and relaxed manner that I hope will allow you to feel comfortable in describing your situation. Pawfessor Morty (a Hungarian Vizsla) has now joined the therapy team, and he looks forward to helping you feel warm and welcomed too!

As a counsellor, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for personal growth and healing, helping individuals overcome challenges to achieve lasting positive change.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
