Ali was tired of hearing stories from people seeking help for their mental health and failing. She saw an alternative that shifted away from a clinical setting as the key. Sitting in an office, talking about your worries and insecurities is intimidating and very difficult to do. While it takes a different kind of bravery to do this with an equine partner, the benefits are insurmountable. Heartline provides a unique opportunity for clients to connect with horses in a safe and supportive environment. Our program allows individuals to engage in experiential learning, fostering personal growth and self-discovery in real time.

I practice Lacanian Psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis is a talking work, or therapy, which aims to make an absolute difference to suffering. Lacan's psychoanalysis is based in the idea that the unconscious is structured like language. What you say reveals the unconscious processes that underlie any issues that are problematic for you, or recur. Psychoanalysis is the safe space where you can come to talk freely, without censorship and your analyst listens. There is no "correct" way to speak; the work of psychoanalysis is to find your own unique voice, especially of your unconscious.

You’ve spent years caring for others—whether in emergency rooms, aged care, ambulances, or community health. You carry the weight of what you’ve seen: stress, exhaustion, trauma, and disconnection. You need a safe, compassionate space to make sense of it all, rebuild your inner strength, and learn to care for yourself as deeply as you care for others. Whether preventing burnout or processing difficult experiences, your goal is to feel whole again—not just functioning, but truly grounded and supported by someone who understands your journey.

Horses offer a non-judgment relationship, congruence, and transparency, something often many of us have been lacking in our lives. They can teach us how to be brave, how to manage big emotions and most importantly, because they are such magnificent creatures they sit with us while we deal with our stuff. EAP has been found to be an effective treatment for children, adolescents, and adults including: • Complicated Grief • Depression and anxiety • Difficult behaviours • Children and adolescents ‘at risk’ with maladaptive behaviours • Disruptive behaviours • Adolescents with depression, anxiety and low esteem •

My ideal client is a young person or adult navigating alcohol or other drug concerns.
They may not love the idea of therapy, but they know something needs to shift. They want clarity, direction and practical tools to feel in control again. They’re tired of repeating the same patterns and want steady, non-judgmental support to rebuild confidence, purpose and momentum.

How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
