I am particularly enthusiastic about working with clients in the following areas: childhood trauma and PTSD, authenticity, existential concerns, career and life-purpose, intimate relating, motivation, dreams, spirituality , and place and belonging.
Hello there! I work as an Integrative Psychotherapist, and absolutely love this process of helping fellow humans to heal and grow through whatever has become stuck or too-much to cope with alone. When clients have breakthroughs in these personal struggles it's very rewarding. I value being honest, collaborative, non-judgemental, and discerning in the therapeutic relationship. Clients often describe me as warm, open-minded, humorous, and caring.

Sometimes we require a helping hand when adjusting to an ever-changing world. I want to help you develop skills and tools to create sustainable fulfilment within your life. Common challenges we all face include issues with self-esteem, processing negative or strong emotions, work-life balance, adjusting to change, developing meaningful relationships, and discovering our purpose. In addition, stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and interpersonal conflict can obstruct our ability to experience life to its fullest potential. You have the ability to unlock your own power, and I want to help you discover that inner strength.

No matter what your current situation looks like, we can work together to find meaningful pathways leading to health and well-being. I enjoy working with guys that wrestle with questions of life, meaning, and purpose. We all experience unfulfilled desires to be heard and to be understood. Whether it is struggling with a yearning to be affirmed, or just to be respected. At times we get caught up in a rut and struggle to break the patterns. often affecting our relationships. Some of us are bound up by unhealthy habits. Let's work together to see health and beauty take hold in these spaces.

I work at the level of attending to generational and collective forces and how they shape individual experiences and psychology across the lifespan. I am highly sensitive to systemic and structural injustices and collective dynamics that exist within our culture. I often work with creative and contentious Millennial adults who seek meaningful development of their identity, purpose, and resilience in a challenging and constrained system. Our discussions together form a collaborative container for you to access past, present, and future experiences, with the aim of supporting you to flourish in the ways you desire.

I believe that the stories we tell ourselves shape our lives, our identity, and our sense of 'place' in this world. We can impact and transform our lives by exploring how we engage with our life stories - by learning to tell our stories in ways that make us stronger. Narrative Therapy, to me, is a respectful and hope-filled counseling method that connects a client with their agency and stories, empowering them to shape a different future.

I use a wholistic frame, inclusive of body, mind and spirit in my work as a therapist. I have found that working somatically can be tremendously revealing of inner gems that lay beneath the level of consciousness. They can provide answers, understandings, and can lead to living a fuller life. The use of your spiritual frames of reference in therapy can also bring meaning and can provide leverage for the changes you are wanting to make. You may feel supported to become more whole, self-actualised, self-understanding and accepting of the person you are.

I'm a certified somatic psychotherapist, counsellor, mover, yoga teacher & bodyworker. With more than a decade of experience in body-based therapies. I support individuals who are seeking to transform stress, trauma, anxiety, PTSD and depression through a somatic & spiritually-oriented approach to therapy. I use a somatic approach by reducing stress and anxiety physiologically, through changing the autonomic nervous system & discharging trauma and by working with embodiment practices. I work with a non-dual lens that mind, body, spirit are one, that each individual is already whole & supporting the removal of obstacles in the way.

I am an experienced and compassionate counsellor with a person-centred and strengths based approach to counselling. I offer a non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood and I work on the premise that you as the client have your own innate wisdom to draw on. As such, I don't impose my ideals and beliefs onto you, but rather support you to draw on your own strengths and wisdom. I have found clients are then able to see the path before them and the steps they need to take to make the changes they are seeking.

Do you sometimes struggle to be understood? As an introvert, INFJ, empath or neurodivergent, you might struggle to feel like you fit in. It can be especially hard when you constantly feel like your energy levels are being drained! You are probably someone who everyone leans on for help and support, yet you yourself don't have anyone to talk to who gets you and hears what you are saying. When you've gone through your own issues- it's important that you have a place to feel heard. What if I was to tell you that I could help? For you to heal from your past, find joy in the now, and to have the courage to dream big dreams for your life.

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
