Many of us were raised with the notion that experiencing psychological, emotional or relationship difficulties meant that we were somehow broken; or that seeking help is a sign of weakness. I don’t subscribe to this belief. Reaching out is brave, and I am yet to talk to a person that hasn’t had their share of personal challenges. You are not broken, you are human; and therapy is not about fixing, it’s about healing.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, health anxiety, intrusive thoughts, chronic worrying (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and related anxiety disorders. I work with clients via online therapy (telehealth) Australia-wide. I primarily use an Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) based approach which is the main evidence-based treatment approach for OCD. ERP includes a Response Prevention component which involves learning how to stop compulsions, and later in therapy the Exposure component involves gradually confronting triggers without engaging in compulsions.

My style is warm, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based approaches. I will help you explore what’s holding you back and move you toward a more connected, fulfilling life. I aim to be both a steady ally and gentle provocateur—someone who champions your goals while encouraging growth. Together, we’ll explore past and present dynamics, emotions, and behaviours with an eye toward practical insight and emotional wellbeing. Before becoming a clinical psychologist, I was a university lecturer and have authored two books on Australian history and culture—part of my lifelong interest in the human experience and what helps us thrive.

People often come to psychotherapy because they are burdened by thoughts, behaviours, feelings, or patterns of relating that make their lives difficult and cause them to suffer. In my psychoanalytic practice it is through speaking freely, and being listened to with careful attention, that people can find new possibilities with the difficulties and impasses that have characterised their lives so far. My approach does not impose norms of relating, functioning or being but meets each person, one by one, in their unique experience of living and in the context of their history and circumstances.
