Choosing a psychologist is a big decision, and I suspect you've thought about this for a while. You know that therapy is an investment in yourself, and you don't make investments without doing your research. You are looking for someone you feel safe and comfortable sharing your most difficult thoughts and feelings with. You want someone to listen carefully, to respect you and your experience and to be invested in your goals providing support that is specifically tailored to who you are (otherwise you'd just be buying a self-help book). That's what you deserve!

If you're looking for a therapist that values honesty, humour, and actually getting to the point to support you with burnout, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma or any kind of life transition, we might be a great fit!
I believe in offering a therapy experience that doesn't feel overly stuffy or clinical. Many people love a clinical approach, but for those who don't, it can feel really daunting. I aim to provide support that feels authentic, where clients can come exactly as they are.

I have a particular interest in grief, loss and trauma, and also working with anxiety, depression and life changes/transitions.
I am a strong advocate for breaking down social taboos surrounding mental health. The personal mental health journey can be isolating, and the individual can often feel alone, unaccepted and excluded. My aim is to understand their issues and legitimise their experiences, creating an environment where they feel safe, can express their needs and identify their goals. My focus is creating a strong therapeutic alliance, resulting in a tailored treatment plan.

Many of my clients are thoughtful people navigating uncertainty, loss, major life decisions, or periods where life simply feels stuck.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't deciding what to do. It's making sense of what's happening.

These may include depression, anxiety, phobia, panic attacks, complex trauma, loss and grief, PTSD, emotional overwhelm, sexual abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, low self-esteem, and relationship problems.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychoanalytic theories which focus on gaining a deeper understanding of the self and one’s subjective experience. Rather than targeting symptoms in isolation, psychoanalytic psychotherapy seeks to uncover the underlying unconscious processes that shape patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
