Having a restful night's sleep is blissful.
We have all been in situations that we wish were different. We want someone who listens respectfully, to support and encourage us to get through this situation stronger and to be proud of who we are. It can be reassuring to work with a professional therapist to help clarify our thoughts, who will provide tools to manage concerns and assist in putting a life plan in to action.

I work with adults and older adults struggling with insomnia, sleep anxiety, or poor sleep quality — often people who have tried other approaches without lasting results, or who sense something deeper is keeping their nervous system alert at night.
I specialise in insomnia and sleep disorders, drawing on CBT-I, Compassion Focused Therapy, ACT, and EMDR. My work focuses on understanding what the nervous system is doing when sleep won't come — and building lasting safety, not just better sleep habits. Telehealth across Australia, Tuesday to Thursday.

I am a psychologist with 4 years of experience supporting individuals with sleep and mental health.
I believe lasting change comes from having the right tools and knowledge to manage challenges beyond therapy. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored. I respond promptly and follow through with tools and support, knowing how frustrating it is when this doesn’t happen. We’ll build a toolkit to help maintain positive change over time.

I’m a Melbourne based experienced psychologist. Many of the people I see are professionals and entrepreneurs constantly making decisions, managing responsibilities, and striving to meet high expectations. On the outside everything appears under control, but inside it can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or lonely. Capable, successful people can feel weighed down by hidden anxiety, stress, perfectionism, or ADHD. We work together to unpack what’s really going on beneath the surface. We explore patterns that keep you stuck whether it’s overthinking, restlessness, or the pressure to achieve and strategies to focus on what matters most.

Ben is a Clinical Psychologist who helps adults to manage challenges, work with (and not against) their brain, and build a meaningful life. Ben has a special interest in working in the ADHD and LGBTIAQ+ space. If you're after a collaborative space that is warm, safe, and judgement-free; Ben can empower you to identify your strengths, develop strategies and tools for positive change, boost wellbeing and resilience, and build understanding and acceptance of yourself. Rather than just managing your symptoms, Ben can help you make sense of persistent patterns in emotions, relationships, work, or self-esteem that feel hard to shift.

I work with people navigating life transitions, seeking clarity, and wanting to create a life that aligns with their values, goals and sense of direction. This may include career change, relocation, relationship transitions, stepping into new life stages, or periods of uncertainty where you are reconsidering what matters most and what comes next. I support individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of their experiences, including exploring whether there may be underlying factors contributing to how they think, feel or respond.

It’s not always easy to ask for support, especially when you’ve been holding it all together for so long. You might be feeling anxious, exhausted, or emotionally drained. Maybe you’re managing a chronic illness, feeling lost in a big life transition, burnt out from work or study, or questioning who you are and what matters to you now. Even if you're someone who usually copes well, it might feel like things just aren’t working anymore. You might be craving a space that feels calm and affirming, where you can take a breath, feel understood, and begin to figure things out at your own pace, with someone who really gets it.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
