My work is primarily psychoanalytic, with TFP, MBT, ACT and CBT integrated when useful.
Pain has a strange way of shrinking the world. Anxiety reduces it to the next catastrophe. Depression drains it of colour. Trauma brings the past into the present. And relationships can turn love, fear and abandonment into the same story. What hurts has a history. But the next scene has not yet been written.

Many of the adults I work with have ADHD and feel like they are constantly trying to keep up with life’s demands. Focus can come and go, routines are hard to hold, and energy often runs out before the day is done. ADHD rarely sits on its own. Anxiety, low mood, sleep problems, or chronic health concerns often overlap. My clients want to understand how their mind works, reduce the mental load, and build ways of working with their attention and energy rather than fighting it.

By combining these two approaches, we'll explore how to make sense of your experiences (your story); how thoughts and feelings impact how you feel and act; and how to build new ways of thinking and being that fit better with who you want to be.
I offer caring, confidential counselling through Telehealth to make support more accessible, wherever you live in Australia. You can connect from the comfort of your home, without the stress of travel or long wait times. Additionally, I provide counselling support to people living in rural or regional areas as I care about people having access to the high quality service and being able to find mental health support when they need it, and in a way they can access it.

I draw on evidence-based therapies: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
I’m a Melbourne based experienced psychologist. Many of the people I see are professionals and entrepreneurs constantly making decisions, managing responsibilities, and striving to meet high expectations. On the outside everything appears under control, but inside it can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or lonely. Capable, successful people can feel weighed down by hidden anxiety, stress, perfectionism, or ADHD. We work together to unpack what’s really going on beneath the surface. We explore patterns that keep you stuck whether it’s overthinking, restlessness, or the pressure to achieve and strategies to focus on what matters most.

I draw primarily on ACT and Schema Therapy.
Have you ever wondered why life seems harder than it looks for everyone else? Perhaps you’ve spent years feeling different, repeating the same patterns, or working against your own brain rather than with it? I help adults better understand themselves so that change happens and sticks. I have a particular interest in ADHD and LGBTQIA+ mental health, while also supporting people with anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, perfectionism and life transitions. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s keeping you stuck and build a life that fits who you are.

I work with people navigating life transitions - career change, relocation, relationship shifts, or periods of uncertainty where you're reconsidering what matters most and what comes next. With 15 years' experience in organisational psychosocial risk and workplace wellbeing, I also work well with clients managing stress, burnout, or pressure carried over from work into daily life. I support individuals seeking a deeper understanding of their experiences, including exploring whether there may be underlying factors contributing to how they think, feel, or respond.

Providing a caring safe space, whether it be face to face, or via telehealth (zoom), phone and text, I support those experiencing stress, anxiety and depression, by using a combination of therapies such as CBT, ACT and Narrative Therapy to develop coping strategies, but also so the client can feel supported and heard in their life story.
Supporting adolescents, young adults and adults when they're experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and other related issues, causes can be triggered by relationship issues, school and workplace bullying, lack of self-identity confidence, attachment challenges, as well as worries about future direction, self-doubt, lack of self-esteem, motivation and especially more recently lockdown impacts due to COVID. Additionally leveraging from 25 years in human resources, I also provide guidance for adolescents, young adults and adults in navigating their career pathways and how to negotiate working relationships in the most affective way.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
