You might be here because traditional talk therapy or CBT hasn't fully addressed what you're experiencing. The anxiety persists. The tension won't release. Patterns keep repeating despite your best efforts.
You grew up walking on eggshells, reading the room, suppressing your needs. Now you experience chronic pain, IBS, or tension doctors can't explain. You feel numb or hypervigilant. Relationships feel insecure or repeat painful patterns.
You want to feel safe in your body, stop managing symptoms, and experience genuine change. You need approaches beyond talk therapy—somatic work that addresses trauma stored in your nervous system

I integrate a range of cognitive therapies with mindfulness practices & art therapies while also considering the impact of societal & family systems.
Navigating the world as a neurodivergent person can be incredibly challenging, especially without adequate support. If you're autistic, have ADHD, are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or are a trauma survivor, you know the unique hurdles that come with higher rates of trauma and PTSD. Life can feel overwhelming when you're managing sensory differences, executive functioning struggles, and the exhausting work of masking.

Art therapy and creative processes are often used to support expression, helping you move forward in a way that feels safe, empowering, and true to you, at your own pace.
You may be seeking support through individual therapy or by joining a small supportive group where you can feel safe, understood, and accepted. For some, this includes healing from trauma related to sexual violence, incest, or other forms of sexual, physical, or psychological abuse, which may still shape how safe the world and relationships feel. You may also be neurodivergent—living with ADHD, autism, OCD, or dyslexia—or navigating anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder and feeling misunderstood or exhausted from trying to meet expectations that do not align with who you truly are and needing a safe and confidential place.

We might use CBT to explore how thoughts affect emotions and actions, incorporate mindfulness practices, or use expressive art to explore without words.
Your teen might be putting enormous pressure on themselves by studying for hours until
midnight and still dreading tests, or constantly wondering if they are good enough no matter how hard they try. Maybe you’ve noticed that they’re more irritable, or you feel like you don’t know your teen anymore. They want to succeed, but their stress and overwhelm are getting in the way, and you aren’t sure how to help.

Since 'coming to Know' is a process, rather than something to be achieved, we are less interested in the outcome of the art and more interested in what we 'come to Know' along the way, through the creative inquiry.
I am passionate about supporting those on a journey of inner healing, growth, discovery and transformation. I am in service of those who ready to connect to the truth of their inner nature, explore their sense of purpose, and develop the unique and innate gifts they came to share with the world.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.
Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.
How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.
What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
