I partner with individuals, couples, and young adults who are navigating the complex, often silent challenges of life transitions, cultural adjustment, and identity. I also deeply welcome those who are exploring or wish to integrate their Christian faith into their healing journey. Grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioural frameworks, my approach is distinctively practical, warm, and highly empathetic.

I am kind, experienced, practical, and a good listener. I work with adults as individuals or in couples. Most of my clients are struggling either with their emotions, with something that has happened, or with other people in their life. My goal is to give you a calm, safe space where hopefully you will walk out a little lighter, with more clarity and a plan and strategies if you need them. I am a licensed counsellor and therapist. If you have a Mental Health Plan from your GP you will need a psychologist and there will be an approx $120+ gap fee payable. I am happy to work with you privately if you choose not to use your MHP.

Hello, I'm a Clinical Psychologist who believes meaningful change begins with understanding. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the patterns shaping their emotional wellbeing, and together we develop practical, evidence-based strategies for lasting change. Having migrated to Australia as an adult and changed careers before becoming a psychologist, I bring a breadth of life experience and an appreciation of life's transitions, identity and change. I feel privileged to support people in rebuilding hope and creating a meaningful life.

I am passionate about supporting children and adolescents in developing effective ways of managing their emotions and thoughts, and in turn, their behaviours. Along with learning therapeutic self-regulation skills, clients learn more about their internal processes and why they can have the feelings and thoughts they do. This helps reinforce the theory and motivations behind self-regulation skills, and how they can help each client with their own unique difficulties and strengths!

My therapeutic approach is tailored to the individual and draws on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with adults across a broad range of psychological difficulties and life challenges. I have a special interest in supporting individuals living with chronic pain, chronic illness, and the effects of trauma. My approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful change often occurs through small, achievable steps that accumulate over time. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I work collaboratively with clients to build lives that are rich in purpose, connection, and personal meaning.

I work with a variety of people including those suffering depression and anxiety, PTSD and complex trauma, personality disorders including borderline personality disorder, as well as dissociative disorders and complex mood conditions. I also work frequently with OCD and sexual addictions/disorders. My approach is holistic and focused on identifying your needs and goals, and how we can best achieve these together. I am a clinical psychologist and focus strongly on the assessment process - I believe it's important to establish exactly what may be happening so that we are on the same page. Treatment is always tailored to the individual

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.

Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.

Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognising and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.

How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
