It can feel daunting to find the right therapist. Many clients come to me because of anxiety, burnout, or a feeling of disconnect. They've lost the sound of the genuine in their life. Is this you? On the outside, you have it all figured out, while inside, you're exhausted. You keep it all together, but you want to know why you feel this way. Your achievements have not brought you real peace. Therapy can help. The fruits of this work can feel like untying a knot that has kept you bound. It's not only about the peaks. You want to connect with your life. You want to remove where you are blocked. We can walk this way together.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, difficulties with addiction or recovery, and challenges with anger or emotional regulation.
My ideal client is an adult experiencing anxiety, emotional distress, or feeling unsettled during a life transition. They may be managing work, relationships, or recovery on the surface while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. Many have a history of complex stress, trauma, or mental health challenges and want support that feels grounded, respectful, and non-judgemental. Their goal is to better understand themselves, feel more emotionally steady, and reconnect with their values and sense of agency.

I support men—individually or with their partners—through challenges like anger, communication, and major life changes.
Life throws curveballs—parenting, work stress, relationships—you name it. It’s easy to start wondering, am I even getting this right? You’re definitely not alone. As a dad of two, I get how messy and full-on life can feel. That’s why I offer therapy that’s real, down-to-earth, and works around your schedule with after-hours appointments available. Please note that counselling is a self-funded service, as counsellors are not included under the Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and do not offer Medicare rebates in Australia.

People often arrive with a cocktail of symptoms, including Depression, Anxiety, Anger issues, substance abuse, etc.
Most therapists aren't specifically trained in trauma, and many who are may rely on just one trauma-specific technique within a general talk therapy framework. I do things differently. Trauma therapy is what I specialize in. I’m trained in multiple trauma-specific methods as well as Neuropsychotherapy, so I can adapt the work to meet your unique nervous system and needs, not the other way around. Take the first step towards healing from Trauma, reducing Anxiety and Depression, and enhancing your quality of life.

I help men get on top of anger, stress, and habits that have taken over the same way you'd fix anything properly: work out what's wrong, then fix it right, not patch it over.
Most of the men I see are already coping, holding down work, family and day-to-day life, but are tired of the same blow-up happening on repeat. Blokes come to me when they're ready to put in real time on it, not just survive the next one

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
