We practice the art of belonging to our vibrant self and world.
Love and Grief. Loneliness. School Can’t. Power Struggles. Doubt. Disenchantment. Impoverishment. Cultures. Identities. Mind-Body Connection. Spiritual Emergence. These are my jams. I work with all ages and faces in beautiful spaces. I want you to get a lot out of therapy, not just a bandaid or another set of textbook rules/strategies to get by, but a way of life that is deeply congruent and satisfying to who you truly are, as well as your own portable home of what I call the 7 Friends of Universal Human Needs: Safety, Support, Truth, Freedom/Creative Expression, Value and Worth, Beauty, and Vibrant Connection to All of Life.

Using art, play, drama, stories, and movement, I support emotional regulation, confidence, social connection, and identity.
Many of the people I work with are children, adolescents, and adults navigating big emotions, life transitions, or relational challenges. They may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, and sometimes find it hard to put their feelings into words. I take a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming approach that honours each person’s unique way of thinking, feeling, and relating. My work supports clients to express themselves, regulate emotions, and reconnect with creativity, joy, and self-trust.

Our ongoing work may involve uncovering attachment patterns, navigating deep emotional wounds or shadow material, and integrating creative tools like sound and art to support your nervous system healing.
There is a very specific type of exhaustion that cannot be cured by sleep. It happens when you carry deep, invisible wounds that haven't been seen or believed, leaving you feeling isolated and cut off from your true self. If you are high-functioning but secretly feel like you are drowning, your nervous system might be overwhelmed. I am a depth counsellor working with emotional wounds, patterns, trauma, grief, identity shifts, and the “dark night of the soul". I currently have immediate availability for Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS participants. My practice space is calm and designed to support nervous system healing.

Life offers us all challenges, sometimes huge, sometimes small, these challenges present themselves so that we may grow and in the process become wiser. I will support you to lean into your experiences rather than moving away from feelings, learning to befriend them and in the process develop a closer relationship with yourself and others. Developing emotional agility is a natural outcome of therapy that provides agency for change. Issues include parenting, relationships, depression, anxiety, life direction, addiction and trauma.

Art Therapy Therapists
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
