Many people come to counselling with a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right - even if they can’t clearly name what the problem is. You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in familiar relationship patterns, or unsure of who you are. If that resonates, you’re not alone.
I offer a warm, emotionally safe space where we can gently explore what you’re experiencing. My approach is person-centred, emotion-focused, and attachment-informed. I’m interested in understanding how your emotional world has been shaped by your relationships and life experiences, and how those patterns may be showing up for you in the present.

I work with individuals who feel something within them is asking to be heard—often showing up as anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, or disconnection. I support ADHD, autism, motherhood, trauma, and work with children (5+) and NDIS participants, including school-based sessions in primary and high school settings.
My person-centred, evidence-informed approach creates space to explore what’s beneath the surface, build emotional capacity, and move toward clarity, regulation, and self-trust.
If you’re feeling the weight of carrying it all alone, this is a space to slow down, be met fully, and begin finding your way forward.

Hi, I’m Francesca. I offer counselling for individuals and couples, both online and from my beautiful property in the hills of South Gippsland. I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), person-centred and experiential approaches to support people navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, overwhelm, life transitions, emotional regulation and self-understanding.
For those who choose to work outdoors, the horses may become part of the therapeutic experience. Whether you actively work with them or simply share the space, their presence can support reflection, connection and awareness of emotions, boundaries and relationships.

In my adolescence, I found traditional therapy passive and unhelpful, carrying a stigma against it until I saw new approaches.
I work with people who don't fit the standard 9-to-5 mould - FIFO and shift workers, tradies, high performers, and anyone who's tried talk therapy before and found it didnt feel like the right fit for them. Circle It Counselling offers evening and night sessions built around real rosters, not office hours. Every session ends with concerete plans, and individualised worksheets that promote reflection, emotional tracking and growth are provided for the time between sessions. If you've written off counselling because the format didn't fit you, this might be the one that does.

I feel passionate about helping people make meaningful, sustainable, and healthy changes in their lives. I aim to work respectfully and collaboratively with people so that clients build their own independence and develop ways to manage life stressors more effectively, in addition to their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours. A comfortable, empathetic and supportive therapeutic relationship is also very important in my approach, and research shows that this is essential in best outcomes for clients. I generally work on a wide range of mental health and life issues and the approaches I work with are all evidence-based interventions.

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, but at the heart of therapy is connection - and that’s what I try my best to prioritise in our sessions. I believe therapy shouldn’t feel clinical or detached; it should feel like a conversation with someone who truly sees you. I work specifically with young adults aged 18 - 35, and I have a special interest in working with trauma, attachment difficulties, anxiety disorders, young adults who are experiencing family and relationship difficulties, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people who are experiencing identity struggles or those just feeling "stuck".

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
