I work with my clients in a human, down to earth way. I see us as two people working together to find what will help make things better for you. We'll look at more than just your symptoms; we'll look at your life experiences, your relationships, your family & ancestral history, social & environmental systems around you, and how your body is responding to all of this. I tend to work deeply and do more than just teach you strategies. I am interested in supporting you to get to the root cause of things, because I believe that is where we find liberation and self-compassion.

I use neuro-affirming CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and Collaborative Problem Solving for youth.
My clinical focus, passion and expertise is with neurodivergent youth facing anxiety, social struggles, or identity challenges, often with autism, ADHD, or sensory differences. They feel misunderstood and seek a safe, non-judgmental space to build confidence and resilience. They want practical strategies to manage stress, improve communication and relationships, and achieve goals like school success, self-acceptance, employment and being better understood by those around them. Parents may seek guidance to support them. Their aim is to thrive authentically, feeling empowered in a world that doesn’t always align with their needs.

Choosing a psychologist is a big decision, and I suspect you've thought about this for a while. You know that therapy is an investment in yourself, and you don't make investments without doing your research. You are looking for someone you feel safe and comfortable sharing your most difficult thoughts and feelings with. You want someone to listen carefully, to respect you and your experience and to be invested in your goals providing support that is specifically tailored to who you are (otherwise you'd just be buying a self-help book). That's what you deserve!

I take a relaxed and collaborative approach to therapy and aim to create a space that feels warm, supportive, and genuine.
Some people come to therapy with a specific issue they want help with; others are looking to understand longer-standing patterns in themselves or their relationships. I work both short-term and longer-term, and tailor therapy to what feels most helpful. My focus is on creating a safe and honest space where change can unfold at a pace that feels right.

I love working creatively with people, especially with children. Children are playful and curious, and I love to lean into that during sessions. The main way children learn and encounter the world is through play, which is why a large proportion of my therapy time with children is play-based. Using expressive and play-based therapy with children supports their emotional, social and cognitive development and gives them non-verbal ways of expressing their emotional destress and working through challenges like anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and unique challenges related to neurodivergence.

I draw on evidence-based therapies: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
I’m a Melbourne based experienced psychologist. Many of the people I see are professionals and entrepreneurs constantly making decisions, managing responsibilities, and striving to meet high expectations. On the outside everything appears under control, but inside it can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or lonely. Capable, successful people can feel weighed down by hidden anxiety, stress, perfectionism, or ADHD.
We work together to unpack what’s really going on beneath the surface. We explore patterns that keep you stuck whether it’s overthinking, restlessness, or the pressure to achieve and strategies to focus on what matters most.

I work in a way that draws upon psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive, mindfulness, emotion-focused and existential theories in a very experiential way to allow the client to explore their world in more detail.
With over two decades of clinical experience, my therapeutic approach involves a combination of the modalities outlined below. The underpinning nature of my work comes from an existential perspective where the nature of one’s experience and meaning are examined. Essentially we try to make sense of our surroundings, trying to understand ourselves, other people, and their place in the world. This view of ourselves is created by the influences of time, place, culture, society and family. These influences and experiences help in shaping the character and personalities of ourselves as individuals but also our place in this world.

Sexual or relationship concerns can be difficult to talk about and may negatively impact our emotional well-being and mental health. Often people tell me they have not felt comfortable discussing sexuality with other therapists and seek me out to explore issues of concern without judgement. As an accredited psychosexual therapist and mental health social worker I have worked for nearly 30 years supporting people to improve their sexual and interpersonal relationships, manage depression, anxiety, low self esteem, body image issues, sexual pleasure post trauma, grief, loss, communication difficulties and other concerns.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
