ADHD Melbourne is a practice dedicated to supporting adults, adolescents, and children navigating ADHD, ASD and related challenges. We understand that ADHD is not simply about attention or organisation, it affects emotions, relationships, work, study, self-esteem, and daily life in deeply personal ways. Our approach is strengths-based, neuroaffirming, and evidence-informed. We recognise that every ADHD brain is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. ADHD Melbourne conducted formal assessment for both ADHD and ASD for ages 6 and above.

I work with adults & couples dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD & complex trauma, relationship difficulties, OCD and other emotional concerns. I approach therapy with a deep curiosity about you: how you see things like noone else. Depending on what brings you to therapy, we may explore how pivotal moments in life have shaped you, your beliefs, and your relationships, or we may look at practical ways you could bring about the changes you hope for. My aim is to provide a supportive space that helps you understand things more clearly, accept yourself more fully, and feel more capable of meeting life’s challenges.

Psychotherapy is not just a process of healing it also one of personal growth and awakening to a deeper and richer life. My focus is holistic meaning I work the whole person and enter into your world to help you make sense of your feelings and experiences. Most of our wounds are formed in our early developmental years and have a deep impact on our sense of self. Therapy creates a safe place to explore and more deeply understand these traumas and develop strategies to help liberate us from suffering.

I am a Clinical Psychologist offering psychoanalysis. Many people I work with come to psychoanalysis carrying feelings of confusion, emotional overwhelm, or a sense that certain patterns in their life seem to repeat without clear reason. Some are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, or unresolved experiences yet to be spoken. Others may feel disconnected from themselves or others, sensing that something remains unspoken or out of reach in their emotional life. Often, there is a wish for difference, relief from suffering, or a deeper understanding of why they feel and behave the way they do.

Hi, I'm Aiden. You are not a diagnosis. You are not a collection of symptoms. You are not a problem to be solved. Whatever has brought you here deserves to be taken seriously. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy because people aren't one-size-fits-all. My job is to understand who you are, how you came to be that person, and where you want to go from here.

You might be feeling stuck - in patterns that keep repeating, in conversations that go nowhere, or in a relationship that feels more distant than you’d like. Maybe you’re trying to hold things together while quietly feeling unseen, unheard, or alone. Whether you’re navigating conflict with a partner, uncertainty about your relationship’s future, or longing for deeper emotional connection, it can be hard to know where to begin.I work with both couples and individuals who want to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply.

I integrate attachment and psychoanalytic perspectives to promote deeper understanding and resolution of the patterns of thought and action that make you unhappy.
I work with adult clients experiencing complex trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, identity conflicts, grief and loss. I treat people of all genders, but have a special interest in men’s psychological struggles. My clients tend to appreciate that psychological growth involves more than 'strategies', and that self-discovery, self-insight and self-acceptance lie at the heart of each healing journey. They expect to be challenged as well as supported, and to be guided by an experienced, insightful, and compassionate therapist who is able to hold and contain whatever distress they bring.

I offer a collaborative and reflective space where you can speak freely and feel deeply listened to. My approach is guided by genuine curiosity about who you are. Rather than reducing your experience to a diagnosis, I seek to understand your story: your history and relationships, and the experiences that have shaped you. When given the space to be heard without judgment, new understanding can emerge, and with it, the possibility for meaningful change. I have over ten years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across public and private health settings.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
