As a psychologist, past teacher, and parent, I feel privileged to work collaboratively with children, adolescents, families, and schools to help advocate for children, to allow their voices to be heard, and to provide understanding and support in bringing out the best in all young people. Giving children courage and skills to navigate difficult, confusing, or anxious situations in their lives builds their confidence and resilience. With a focus on helping young people better understand themselves and their circumstances, goals and strategies centre around realistic expectations, skill development, and hope for a preferred future.

I am warm and compassionate and provide a safe space for my clients. Trauma underpins many of our life stories. I work with trauma using a method called Depth Enquiry. Long held sufferings can be relieved by this gentle and non-invasive process. I work with many clients, and this form of trauma relief can be used to access a particular traumatic event, as well as trauma which has lasted many years in some cases. You can continue with your own therapist while dealing with unresolved trauma if that would work for you.

Many women reach a point where anxiety, stress, responsibilities and life transitions start to feel overwhelming. You might be holding everything together on the outside while feeling anxious, exhausted or unsure how to move forward. If you’re looking for a compassionate space to explore your thoughts and emotions, you’re in the right place. I work with women experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges and major life transitions. Together we can explore what’s happening beneath the surface and begin to make sense of patterns that may be leaving you feeling overwhelmed or stuck.

I am a Psychodynamic Psychologist which means that I believe our emotional and psychological wellbeing are shaped by our relationships. Many of the difficulties that people experience with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or feeling generally overwhelmed have their roots in early experiences of disconnection, loss and isolation. When these experiences are too painful or remain unresolved, they often continue to affect us long into adulthood.

Choosing a psychologist is a big decision, and I suspect you've thought about this for a while. You know that therapy is an investment in yourself, and you don't make investments without doing your research. You are looking for someone you feel safe and comfortable sharing your most difficult thoughts and feelings with. You want someone to listen carefully, to respect you and your experience and to be invested in your goals providing support that is specifically tailored to who you are (otherwise you'd just be buying a self-help book). That's what you deserve!

I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Schema Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Hi! I’m a registered psychologist and accredited EMDR Practitioner, with a particular focus on supporting women experiencing trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, stress, burnout, and the ongoing impact of difficult life experiences. Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and looking for a safe space to make sense of what they’re going through. My approach is warm, calm, and collaborative. As a woman myself, I understand how easy it can be to put everyone else first while losing sight of your own needs. I aim to help clients feel understood, supported, and more like themselves again.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
