I completed the Master’s of Counselling and Psychotherapy at The Cairnmillar Institute, Melbourne, specialising in; trauma & grief, depression & anxiety, relationships, sexuality, chronic pain, work/school issues, communication, emotional regulation and processing, perfectionism & inner criticism and eating disorders.
I wholeheartedly believe in therapeutic healing through safety, compassion & acceptance in the present moment. If we are in distress, feeling lost, alone, sad, anxious or angry it can be hard to know whom to talk with or, what to talk about. Sometimes we don't want to talk at all to start with and, would prefer to do a creative/movement exercise to express ourselves. Maybe we know exactly what we want to talk about and explore, maybe learning new skills to integrate into daily life. I can be there to support you, whatever stage you are at.

I am rarely taking new clients atm due to long wait times to get in. Hi! I am a general psychologist with over three decades of experience. I came to therapy/counselling with a non-pathologising view of symptoms and behaviour. My view is that the vast majority of symptoms of "mental illness" are an understandable response to various life circumstances. Some deep in our past, some in our present. I am passionate about helping people to heal from trauma and live full lives. I also work with a range of common problems such as anxiety and depression . You can transform your life. Via telehealth, I can see clients in any location.

My oh my life can be a big ol’ mess sometimes! I hear you, sometimes things just get way too overwhelming and it’s hard to get unstuck. Maybe you’re dealing with depressive thoughts, feeling too anxious to do anything or trying to figure out what you really want out of life. Or it could be you’re not vibing with your friends, romantic partner or butting heads with certain family members. It can be rough dealing with all that stuff and being a teenager or young adult in this world isn’t easy.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Frankston. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
