You already know what you should do. Eat better, move more, manage stress. But knowledge isn't the problem. The gap between knowing and doing reveals something deeper: unaddressed anxiety, trauma, hormonal imbalances, or chronic inflammation your body's been telling you about for years. I'm Dr. Zambrano (MBBS, Masters Counselling & Psychotherapy), integrating medical-lifestyle science, and psychotherapy. I don't just hand you a diet plan. We uncover why change hasn't stuck, then build sustainable transformation through evidence-based medicine, and therapeutic support for the emotional roots of physical illness.

I believe that real change begins in the therapeutic relationship itself, in the safety to be honest and the support to move forward.
I work from a strength and values-based approach, providing a supportive environment to explore and challenge thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. My practice is person-centred and humanistic, drawing on a variety of psychological modalities. I believe the most effective therapy is flexible, shaped by what you're facing.

I am an emotion-based therapist, passionate in helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of life's challenges.
My therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic, informed by the understanding that our early experiences shape how we understand ourselves and connect with others. Through a collaborative and supportive environment, together we can explore these underlying patterns, develop a deeper sense of self-awareness, and help you develop long-lasting change.

and their relationships with men.
Being overwhelmed, uncertain or in pain, is your unconscious saying it's time for a change. Frequently, though, working out just how to do that, can also be overwhelming in itself, and might only be possible with an ally from outside your normal environment .....So ... What I offer is the result of many years of experiences, not necessarily welcome at the time, but it does turn out to be really worthwhile when working with people in distress, or people simply seeking change, or wanting a new (outlook on) life. My 'speciality' would be; people who are new to therapy, and those not so new, looking for something different.

I am a postgraduate qualified clinical counsellor and PACFA Clinical Member with a special focus on couples and individual therapy.
My approach combines warmth with structured, evidence-based strategy. For individuals, my practice is guided by ACT and IFS frameworks to map out the internal habits running the show. For couples, I utilise the Gottman Method and EFT to decode repetitive conflict.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
