Sometimes we require a helping hand when adjusting to an ever-changing world. I want to help you develop skills and tools to create sustainable fulfilment within your life. Common challenges we all face include issues with self-esteem, processing negative or strong emotions, work-life balance, adjusting to change, developing meaningful relationships, and discovering our purpose. In addition, stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and interpersonal conflict can obstruct our ability to experience life to its fullest potential. You have the ability to unlock your own power, and I want to help you discover that inner strength.

I work from a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic framework, offering a reflective, collaborative space where we can explore what might be contributing to distress or stuckness in your life.
In our work together, we might explore patterns in relationships, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, or that sense that something feels off without being able to name exactly what. My approach focuses on understanding not just what's happening, but why it might be happening.

A psychoanalytic therapy is based on talking, which purpose is to learn about oneself.
Speaking brings clarity. It changes our relationship to things. It allows us to work through and come to terms with what has happened to us. In these ways, it lets us change our problems in something else. Anxiety can reduce or disappear, depression fades, relationships are viewed in a different light, solutions are found, life starts to make sense inNewWays

As a trauma therapist and multidisciplinary artist, I work at the intersection of relational healing, neuroscience, creativity, and cultural identity. My practice supports people navigating trauma, relationship patterns, and disconnection—from themselves, others and what gives them meaning in life; their values. I specialise in working with complex trauma, often rooted in experiences of intimate family violence, cultural rupture and developmental trauma. At the heart of my work is bringing emotion and memory together with the body, science, and creativity.

At some point, almost everyone experiences the desire for personal growth, and this is especially true during times of adversity, significant life transitions, or emotional struggles. While we generally navigate life and stress well, it’s often during challenging moments that our deeper emotional responses and coping mechanisms reveal unresolved wounds, cognitive conflicts, or ingrained patterns of behaviour that may no longer serve us. These experiences can act as a catalyst for self-discovery and transformation, offering an opportunity to confront and overcome what holds us back.

Psychoanalytic Therapists
Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
