It’s Never Too Late for a New Beginning. Hi, I’m Sarah - Life can present us with many personal challenges. Do you feel anxious, lonely or depressed ? Burnt-out or overwhelmed? Do you feel unheard or unable to express your needs in your relationships with your partner, family or friends? Maybe you are not sure what it is, but something doesn’t feel quite right? We all need help at some time to work through things. I understand that taking that first step to seek help can be hard - but the rewards can be great.

I see clients for a broad range of presentations, including: depression , anxiety, grief, difficulties with drugs and/or alcohol, trauma, stress management, life transitions, gender/identity, and more.
I enjoy helping both adolescent and adult clients discover there is an alternative to the life of distress and discomfort quite often being experienced in the lead up to engaging with mental health support. I work with people who are experiencing low mood and/or low motivation, difficulties adjusting, stress, anger, confusion or worry, to empower them to discover their strengths whilst developing insight into their presentation.

I am currently taking new clients for next year. Call reception to book. Hi! I am a general psychologist with over three decades of experience. I came to therapy/counselling with a non-pathologising view of symptoms and behaviour. My view is that the vast majority of symptoms of "mental illness" are an understandable response to various life circumstances. Some deep in our past, some in our present. I am passionate about helping people to heal from trauma and live full lives. I also work with a range of common problems such as anxiety and depression . You can transform your life. Via telehealth, I can see clients in any location.

I have extensive practical experience sitting with individuals during very difficult situations and understand the need to build a trusting relationship in session. My oh my life can be a big ol’ mess sometimes! I hear you, sometimes things just get way too overwhelming and it’s hard to get unstuck. Maybe you’re dealing with depressive thoughts, feeling too anxious to do anything or trying to figure out what you really want out of life. Or it could be you’re not vibing with your friends, romantic partner or butting heads with certain family members. It can be rough dealing with all that stuff and being a teenager or young adult in this world isn’t easy.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
