I also offer EMDR , CBT, relaxation techniques, motivational interviewing, career counselling, couples & family therapy.
Many people sometimes struggle to understand their emotions and behaviour - maybe they get angry too easily, or become upset for no apparent reason. Other people are often well aware of why they need some mental health support, due to historical and / or current problems. I always ask clients: "What do you want to be different in your life when our work is done?" The client's answer may be specific or vague, surprising or long-known to them. Either way, I can help you answer those and many other questions - but only if you truly want to overcome the mental health challenges that stop you from behaving like the person you want to be.

Managing stress and changing behaviour is a complex matter. It can be even tougher when you try to do it alone. My clients are looking for the tools to manage their situation effectively and bring about positive behaviour change and improved performance. The people I work with want the power that comes from combining the best elements of coaching, positive psychology with the best therapeutic practices, including both traditional and state of the art methods. Currently open for new referrals. I work from an understanding that many of life's concerns stem from our past experiences in relationships and the structural difficulties that are present in our society. This organizes the way I understand peoples experience and distress and how I seek to understand how we are in relationship, and what fixed patterns get in the way of living a more meaningful and enriching life. I work with warmth and curiosity to help develop a deeper understanding of your area of concern and better make sense of why particular patterns might be causing distress.

Everyone is on a different journey and we all have our own struggles and stories to tell. I specialised in working with adults, teenagers, and children (6-12y-o) to identify their inner core strengths, maximising their potentials, skills, and abilities to strive for a well-balanced life. I was born in Borneo, identify as gay, and I have experience living in different countries and cultures. My lived experience has filled me with compassion and empathy, and these strengths allow me to connect with individuals on a deeper level regardless of their backgrounds. I speak fluently in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Hakka etc.

Are you doing reasonably well in your professional world, but your personal life is in shambles? Have you done everything you thought you should do to bring you happiness, yet somehow feel something is amiss? Are you surrounded by people regularly, yet feel lonelier than ever? Or do you go from relationship to relationship, yet can never feel safe enough to deepen with the one? Have you gone down the self-help track, yet somehow feel disconnected from life? Do you feel hesitant to see a therapist, because you feel like you shouldn't have problems? Sound familiar? You're not alone. I've been there too and would love to support you.

I use a blend of trauma-informed approaches (such as EMDR and DBT) and art therapy to help clients understand their past and shift unhelpful (and often unconscious) patterns.
My interest lies in helping individuals living with trauma, anxiety-related disorders, interpersonal difficulties and emotional regulation issues. I help clients improve their relationship with themselves (and by extension others) through developing a self-compassionate understanding of their emotional difficulties. From this place we move forward together to process "stuck" memories and explore the development of new ways of being in the world.

EMDR Counsellors
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
