We have all been in situations that we wish were different. We want someone who listens respectfully, to support and encourage us to get through this situation stronger and to be proud of who we are. It can be reassuring to work with a professional therapist to help clarify our thoughts, who will provide tools to manage concerns and assist in putting a life plan in to action.

Hi, I’m Caitlynn. Many of the people I work with appear capable and put-together on the outside, yet internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or highly self-critical. They may find themselves overthinking, struggling to switch off, putting others' needs first, or repeating patterns in relationships that leave them feeling stuck. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and develop a different relationship with yourself. Together, we explore the underlying patterns contributing to your difficulties while also finding practical ways to navigate thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

To help facilitate growth and transformation, I draw from powerful modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).
I believe when we feel genuinely heard and understood, we are able to access greater insight, healing and sustainable change. I have a special interest in supporting clients with anxiety, burnout, stress, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, neurodivergent experiences (Autism, ADHD, OCD), negative self-image and perfectionistic tendencies. I work with clients who want to better understand themselves and heal from the roots of their presenting challenges, as well as learn and adopt evidence-based strategies to help them live a more meaningful life in accordance with their goals and values.

She uses modern psychoanalytic frameworks (ISTDP) and is able to work within skills based frameworks as well (CBT, ACT, DBT).
ISTDP is a fabulous framework for exploring patterns of relating and existing that create suffering but are difficult to articulate or put into words. What I love about this framework is it's capacity to help people move beyond symptom relief and inhabit lasting personal transformation.

Every person I work with is treated with dignity, respect and compassion. This means looking beyond people's current condition, situation or diagnosis to also consider their broader life-history, including how current symptoms may have been shaped by early life experiences. I believe that everybody, no matter how complex or challenging their situation, circumstances or life experiences, when provided the right support has within themselves vast resources for self-understanding and resilience.

I offer a practical, collaborative approach grounded in evidence-based therapies like Schema therapy, ACT, CBT and mindfulness.
I work with people who may look like they’re holding it together, but feel anxious, stuck, or overwhelmed underneath. Many are used to pushing through, yet something isn’t working anymore. I meet you where you’re at, seeing symptoms not just as problems to eliminate, but as meaningful signals to something more significant driving us. In a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space, we slow things down and explore what’s beneath the surface. Together, we build insight, emotional steadiness, and a way forward that feels more aligned with who you are.

I draw primarily on ACT and Schema Therapy.
Have you ever wondered why life seems harder than it looks for everyone else? Perhaps you’ve spent years feeling different, repeating the same patterns, or working against your own brain rather than with it? I help adults better understand themselves so that change happens and sticks. I have a particular interest in ADHD and LGBTQIA+ mental health, while also supporting people with anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, perfectionism and life transitions. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s keeping you stuck and build a life that fits who you are.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
