I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Hi! I’m a registered psychologist and accredited EMDR Practitioner, with a particular focus on supporting women experiencing trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, stress, burnout, and the ongoing impact of difficult life experiences. Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and looking for a safe space to make sense of what they’re going through. My approach is warm, calm, and collaborative. As a woman myself, I understand how easy it can be to put everyone else first while losing sight of your own needs. I aim to help clients feel understood, supported, and more like themselves again.

My clients often are looking for ways to better handle the challenges of daily living. You may be feeling these challenges are insurmountable or that you are fundamentally unable to cope. You might not feel that you have a good understanding of who you truly are, what it is you want out of life, or what you have to offer others. You might also struggle to draw on the resources around you and make the most of your personal relationships. You may struggle to find the voice inside to reassure yourself that, as hard as things can feel, they can change. These things don't make you defective; they make you human.

For more direct issues, I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
As a young immmigrant, I understand how it feels like to live between two worlds. The struggle of fitting in with Australian culture while maintaining traditional values, the question of listening to your parents or following your heart, the generational trauma that never got addressed until it passed on. We feel like outsiders, never truly belong anywhere.

I use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT and Schema Therapy to support recovery from trauma, strengthen emotional wellbeing and improve relationships.
I work primarily with adults experiencing trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties and anxiety, as well as those seeking greater understanding of ADHD or autism. Many of my clients are capable, thoughtful individuals who have spent years managing challenges independently, yet find themselves feeling stuck in familiar patterns or overwhelmed by ongoing demands. Therapy offers a space to better understand these experiences, develop insight and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we explore the experiences, beliefs and coping patterns that may be influencing your wellbeing, relationships and sense of self.

Many women seek support during times of transition, stress, or uncertainty. You may be navigating changes in identity, relationships, or life direction. Some women come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or low mood, others are trying to understand patterns in their relationships, emotions, or past experiences. Women’s mental health is often connected to broader life circumstances such as fertility challenges, pregnancy, early parenthood, chronic pelvic pain, or sexual health concerns affecting intimacy and wellbeing. For many, therapy becomes a space to reflect, feel heard, and work through life’s complexities with support.

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.

Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.

Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognising and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.

How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
