You’ll find a warm, accepting space where every part of you—your neurodivergence, identity, culture, spirituality, history, and life experiences—is valued.
Hi, I’m Maddy—a senior clinical psychologist helping children, young people, and adults create lives that feel steadier, more connected, and more fulfilling. With younger clients, I use playful, creative approaches to make therapy engaging; with adults, our work is reflective, practical, and empowering. I help with common challenges like anxiety, low mood, stress, and adjusting to major life changes, as well as more complex concerns including trauma recovery, navigating neurodivergence (i.e ADHD, autism), borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, and obsessive or compulsive behaviours—focusing on meaningful, lasting change.

I work with adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, often during periods of stress, transition, or change. They may be experiencing anxiety, trauma, low mood, or relationship difficulties, and are seeking therapy because existing ways of coping no longer feel effective. Many want to understand themselves more deeply, feel steadier emotionally, and move forward with greater clarity, self-trust, and connection.

If you feel like you logically understand your problems but still can't seem to change your automatic reactions, you aren't alone. Traditional talk therapy often focuses solely on the conscious mind, while pure hypnotherapy may lack practical day-to-day strategies. My approach bridges this gap by integrating Clinical Hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This dual-level methodology addresses both the conscious thoughts and the deep-seated subconscious patterns that drive behaviours like anxiety, insomnia, and addiction.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand, or unsure how to move forward. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, people pleasing, overthinking, or feeling like you’ve lost touch with who you are. It’s likely you’re carrying more than most people realise. I’m a psychologist who helps people work through trauma, relationship struggles, risky behaviours, and major life transitions. Therapy with me is about creating a safe space to unpack what’s going on and start feeling like the version of yourself you want to be.

You know what it’s like to feel “almost there” in life—growing personally, nurturing relationships, and learning healing tools—yet the same stuck patterns resurface. Maybe it’s in your partnership, self-confidence, or even how you respond under stress. You’re longing for depth, clarity, and a way forward—not just temporary fixes. That’s where trauma-informed therapeutic coaching helps. I work with emotionally curious individuals and couples who seek lasting change, without jargon or overwhelm. Together, we’ll compassionately navigate old patterns, rebuild connection, and chart a path to emotional resilience & relational fulfilment.

You might know the relationship is not healthy, yet struggle to let go. I work with individuals and couples experiencing limerence, obsessive love, attachment anxiety, betrayal, or relationship distress who want clarity, emotional steadiness, and healthier connection. I am also the author of Limerence: The Psychopathology of Loving Too Much (Routledge, 2025).

ADHD Melbourne is a practice dedicated to supporting adults, adolescents, and children navigating ADHD, ASD and related challenges. We understand that ADHD is not simply about attention or organisation, it affects emotions, relationships, work, study, self-esteem, and daily life in deeply personal ways. Our approach is strengths-based, neuroaffirming, and evidence-informed. We recognise that every ADHD brain is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. ADHD Melbourne conducted formal assessment for both ADHD and ASD for ages 6 and above.

My ideal client is anyone who feels overwhelmed by emotions or stuck in patterns that can't be fully explained. Anyone who might be navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, or major life changes, and want a space where they don’t need to find the “right” words. Anyone who is seeking clarity, calm, and deeper self-connection. Anyone curious about using non-traditional approaches to healing. Through art therapy, I offer a gentle, expressive process that allows you to safely explore feelings, uncover inner strengths, and build resilience, helping you to move forward with greater confidence, insight, and emotional balance.

I come to this work with a deep interest in story, meaning, spirituality, and the complexities of belonging.
Many people come to counselling feeling stuck inside a story about themselves or their lives that has become heavy or limiting. Perhaps a problem has begun to define how you see yourself, your relationships, or your sense of direction. When this happens it can feel as though the problem has taken up too much space in your life. Counselling can offer a place to step back, reflect, and begin to see the fuller picture of who you are and what matters to you.

My work is for people who have faith and some knowledge and awareness of their interior life, but are stuck in the same cycles of relating to themselves and others in dysfunctional ways. This blocks them from having a deeper relationship with God, which leads to a lack of fulfillment and either being controlled by their emotions, or feeling numb. Because of this dynamic they are often not able to live their life according to God’s will.

I work with people who are trying to figure out their life's purpose, direction and meaning. I also work with people who want to bring about change into their lives; whether it be by abandoning old belief systems, or working through and processing traumatic events that have kept them 'stuck'.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
