You may be feeling overwhelmed by trauma, anxiety, or depression, and finding it hard to fully engage in life. Unprocessed experiences can stay stuck in the nervous system, keeping you on edge or disconnected. I offer a safe, empathetic space where you are truly heard. Using evidence-based trauma therapy, including EMDR, I help you process the past, reduce distress, and create lasting change—so you can regain control, resilience, and live more fully, not just cope.

Drawing on my training in the Gottman Method, I help couples improve communication, manage conflict more effectively and rebuild trust and connection when things feel strained or distant.
After watching 'Hope Springs', in a scene between the couple and their therapist, I remember thinking, “That’s what I want to do.” I enrolled in a Master of Counselling and began my journey into relationship therapy. I went on to complete Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Gottman Method, I feel deeply grateful to be doing work that truly aligns with my passion.

You may feel consumed by thoughts of someone, caught in cycles of longing, uncertainty, and emotional highs and crashes. Limerence can feel confusing, addictive, and destabilising. You might know the relationship is not healthy, yet struggle to let go. I work with individuals and couples experiencing limerence, obsessive love, attachment anxiety, betrayal, or relationship distress who want clarity, emotional steadiness, and healthier connection. I am also the author of Limerence: The Psychopathology of Loving Too Much (Routledge, 2025).

Something people are often confused by is my Greek surname. “You don’t look greek!” they say. Actually, I was born in Bangkok, but I was adopted into a Greek/Australian family when I was 3 months old, so that explains the surname. I grew up in Adelaide, SA but now call Melbourne my home. I live in the inner north, with my 2 children and dog.

In couples therapy I integrate attachment theory with the Gottman Method.
I enjoy working with individuals and couples and have a passion for empowering you on your path forward. Many of my clients are navigating couples / relationship dynamics or are processing lingering impacts of past experiences. Often high-functioning and thoughtful, they find themselves stuck between who they are and who they want to be. If you are hoping to feel more secure in yourself and/or your relationships, if you are seeking to reconnect or find meaning, if you are looking to learn to respond to life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence, I can support you on your journey.

Feeling distressed about your mental health is entirely normal. Whether you are feeling anxious, depressed, or stressed about COVID, work or relationships, I believe that addressing psychological challenges should begin with developing an awareness of the influence of past experiences on current mental health. My role as a clinical psychologist involves working with you to understand the potentially traumatic origins of your current mental health difficulties. The process of developing awareness through exploring your past and addressing your current challenges requires a comfortable therapeutic relationship with your psychologist.

Gottman Method Therapists
How does the Gottman method work?
One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?
Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analysed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?
Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomised controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
