Often in today's world, we get caught up in so many distractions on the outside that we are not always aware of our internal experiences. We walk around anxious and depressed, with critical thoughts of ourselves and others, and often live a reality that is separate from our own personal wishes and desires. I believe that therapy provides a safe space to step away from all the external distractions and focus on identifying and responding to our emotional world in the most open and connected way, which may have been too painful to do in the past.

I work from a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic framework, offering a reflective, collaborative space where we can explore what might be contributing to distress or stuckness in your life.
In our work together, we might explore patterns in relationships, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, or that sense that something feels off without being able to name exactly what. My approach focuses on understanding not just what's happening, but why it might be happening.

I work from a relational and trauma-informed framework, drawing on Schema Therapy, EMDR, and psychodynamic psychotherapy to support emotional processing and a deeper understanding of relational patterns.
Many people come to therapy already understanding themselves quite well, but notice that their emotional responses in certain situations still feel automatic, intense, or difficult to shift in the moment. This can show up as cycles of self-criticism, anxiety, emotional withdrawal, overthinking, or repeated relational difficulties, even when there is insight into why these patterns might be happening.
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist offering longer-term psychotherapy for adults experiencing complex trauma, attachment-related difficulties, and longstanding emotional or relational patterns.

My approach is relational and psychodynamic — we’ll spend time understanding the patterns underneath what’s going on, not just managing symptoms.
Many of my clients come to therapy wanting to understand long-held patterns, improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen relationships, or find a clearer sense of direction. Some people come to therapy knowing what they would like to work on or discuss, others don’t, and we use the space to explore why they might be feeling off.
I usually see adolescents and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, burnout, relationship concerns, eating disorders & the transition to motherhood.

I work with people in both short-term and long-term psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
People come to therapy for a range of reasons. There might be recurrent problems in relationships or work, there might be disturbing feelings within, or behaviours that are defeating or destructive. Many people find that their usual ways of coping don’t seem to work for them anymore. Whatever the issue, undertaking psychotherapy is an opportunity for you to really understand the underlying drivers of the problem, in the context of your unique life history, and to find a way to transform your suffering. New possibilities for living with greater freedom and creativity might then appear.

If you’re a professional struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, or self-doubt, you may feel like you should have it all together. Outwardly, you appear capable and successful, but internally, stress and overthinking make it difficult to enjoy your work, relationships, or even your downtime. You might find yourself avoiding difficult conversations, procrastinating on important tasks, or overworking to keep anxiety at bay. Despite your efforts, you may feel stuck, wondering why stress and self-doubt persist.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
