I specialise in supporting people who have survived traumatic experiences. I am passionate about fostering growth and hope through the counselling process. Making the decision to seek support is not an easy one, and your story will be treated with respect and validation. I am also experienced in the field of addiction and have a deep understanding of the connection between trauma and substance abuse and the need to address both in a parallel process.
I work within a trauma informed practice model and use a three phase approach based on stabilization, processing and integration. In working with issues of addiction, I work with an integrative treatment of PTSD and substance abuse. I focus on what is important to you and follow your lead in deciding which direction to take in your recovery journey.
Recovery is possible and understanding what is holding you back is an important step towards it. Working together we can begin to explore your strengths and skills and expand them to build new ones.
