I've been working with young people and their families for over 21 years starting out as a youth worker in New Zealand. I've worked a variety of roles in family preservation programs and child protection before specializing in Family Therapy at La Trobe University. I've been practicing family therapy for six years Neurofeedback for five years. My main focus is on families with complex challenges, impacted by developmental trauma.
Using systems therapy (family work) and Neurofeedback means that I'm looking for the wider picture, how and why people got to the position they are in and how to make small shifts with big impacts. Neurofedback training (meditation training with feedback using computers) doesn't require you to talk about the past.
People come to me who have tried many other types of therapy, or none. Not everyone finds going over their challenges to be useful, so I stay present focused and look at systemic factors, from the environmental to the neurological.
