Elder Matters is a Psychology practice dedicated to the care and support for individuals and families experiencing the challenges of ageing, including: loneliness and isolation; loss, grief and/or bereavements; health and capacity diagnoses; living with memory loss; experiencing past trauma; transition to aged care. These challenges can impact on independence, family relationships, quality of life, support networks, self-confidence, mental health and general wellbeing. Families/loved ones can also be affected, and at times overwhelmed, by the combination of loss and grief, carer fatigue/exhaustion and complex care systems.
As a Registered Psychologist and Tertiary qualified Counsellor, I am committed to a client-centred, collaborative and strengths-based approach to treatment and use of evidence based therapeutic approaches to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space for clients to discuss and validate concerns, feel heard and identify strategies/treatment plans.
The experience of ageing can present multiple losses, transitions, stressors and trauma in all dimensions of an older adult’s life and their family/loved ones. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your uniquely felt challenge/s of ageing, please consider contacting me as a next step to supporting your psychological wellbeing. I'll look forward to meeting you!
