In the same way that you see a GP for common illnesses, a physio for muscular problems, a psychologist can help with mental, emotional and situational problems. You have a sanctuary, where it's safe to talk about things. You are not alone, and what you face is often faced by others. When you don’t know what else to do, we can help you find safety, and come up with a plan, together. We extend an invitation to adults, especially men; e.g. anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, and career. Meetings are held face to face in Seven Hills or by Zoom. Access to medicare benefits for mental health plans are available.
Trauma includes "war", and the scars from how we were treated, esp when very young - emotional scars that never heal. These can lead to addictions, broken relationships, anxiety and depression, without ever being fully understood. We can create a narrative that makes sense to you, about "why" and how these things are connected. We can heal them.
I understand if you've seen psychologists & not been satisfied - you've talked & talked... & then what? You will know after 1 session if I can help you, & know after 2 sessions what the plan will be. I help you change. I am warm and welcoming, we can swear if it feels more normal. I'll listen, and I'll also explain things. You're safe here. I've got you.

I bring a problem-solving mindset, and try to work with you for as few sessions as possible - typically 5-6 sessions. I'm not an agony-aunt, or passive listener, as if "you talking" magically fixes things. I give something back. You will know by session 1 if I can help you. By session 3 we will have a plan. I most often, not always, use a process called The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP).

We'll talk first about symptoms - whats wrong, what brought you here? Then we'll ask why the symptoms are present. Like the flu - the infection is the problem, and the symptoms point us in the right direction. With mental health, the 'problem' is most often the beliefs we took from harmful childhood/past experiences. We choose the best method for updating your beliefs for health, energy and peace.
