My name is Todd, I am a Clinical Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with individuals and couples in Melbourne, Australia. I specialise in Trauma and trauma related conditions. My work draws heavily on attachment theory, psychodynamic and developmental psychology and existentialism. I take a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach and work collaboratively with my clients to identify their needs and goals. I believe that psychotherapy is a powerful tool that can be used to enrich your life and relationships through increasing self-awareness, self-understanding and insight, or to work through specific life challenges.
I have a particular interest in work with gay men navigating struggles around identity and the ongoing impact of growing up feeling different or misunderstood. I have experience in a variety of mental health settings, working with a wide range of people from all walks of life and also work as a lecturer in Psychotherapy and Counselling at a tertiary level.
My aim is to create genuine relationship where you feel heard, understood and valued. The therapeutic relationship is one in which you are supported to see yourself more clearly, deriving new understanding and meaning from your experiences, identifying old patterns and finding new ways of relating to your self and to others.
