Camila, our Principal Clinical Psychologist, is an LGBTQIA+ ally, a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is neuro-affirming and provides a safe, friendly, open, and inclusive environment for clients 15+. Camila's strengths include her humour and compassion in areas such as life stressors, adjustment, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, social/emotional difficulties, adult children of emotionally immature parents, eating disorders, cultural differences, perfectionism, neurodivergent burnout, building communication skills, radical acceptance, grief and loss.
As a bilingual, neurodivergent clinician, Camila understands the challenges of multicultural and diverse communities. She uses CBT, ACT and Mindfulness (regular and mundane) techniques. Humour and compassion are at the core of Camila's approach. Camila champions her clients to live authentically and to rid themselves of societal expectations that harm them.
Camila is also passionate about challenging the beauty ideal. She encourages self-expression in areas unrelated to weight or shape, self-acceptance, health at every size, body positivity, building self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-compassion.
