Welcome to 'The Bield Counselling Services'. Bield is an old Scottish word meaning safety, protection; to give confidence, encouragement, assurance. Are you looking for a safe and welcoming environment where you can speak freely about your personal challenges, process new insights and then make helpful changes? Are hope and affirmation, as well as strategies and unbiased perspective, important to you in your healing journey? Do you value ongoing support as you navigate personal crises, relationship challenges, life transitions? My life experiences and training can help me to offer you this support.
Childhood poverty, immigration stress, nursing and family life, as well as working in pastoral care, Street Chaplaincy and addiction counselling have shown me how acceptance, forgiveness and hope can bring deep healing and peace. My counselling is integrative, acknowledges the impact of family, culture, spirituality, life transitions and is trauma-informed.
