Windsor Allied Health (formerly known as Windsor Psychology) is a group private practice in Riverside just outside Launceston, Tasmania. We also deliver services in the greater North and North-West region of Tasmania. Our growing team consists of nine psychologists, five provisional psychologists, one speech pathologist and four support and admin personnel. We are a team of solution-focused psychologists. At Windsor Psychology, we focus on the mental health of families and more specifically, the psychological wellbeing of children and adolescents.
Our mission is to assist people who are living with ADHD; whether that be yourself or someone you love. We focus on education so you have a better understanding of brain functions and how this affects your desired behavioural outcomes. We do this by providing a safe space to connect and interact; where we share experiences, stories and behavioural approaches you can use in everyday life.
Those seeking couples counselling will find that differences between partners are never the real problem. The problem is the inability to talk about them without winding up in an argument or a silent stand-off. Clients will receive guidance to help them avoid those pitfalls and strengthen their relationship. For those seeking individual help, they will learn that they have the tools within themselves to help them meet life's challenges. When those tools get buried under old stories they may still be telling to themselves, good counselling can help them create new stories more in keeping with their true selves.
Specialising in high risk children, adolescents and young adults. Self harm, suicidality, complex trauma, relational trauma. Clinical family assessment and therapy. Anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorder, parenting challenges, online issues, separated families. Covid related anxiety.
Have you ever tried to change and felt like your brain is fighting you every step of the way? Perhaps your brain has been caught in a loop of anxiety, trauma response, anger or flatlining in depression? Neuroscientists estimate that 90% of our decisions and behaviours are subconscious and that's why it's so hard to consciously change. The good news is that there is hope. The latest neuroscience shows ways to unhook our subconscious patterns from the past, behaviours and thoughts. Our brains weren't evolved to deal with the stressors of the modern world, but we can teach the brain the cues of safety to open up the path of healing.
I work with people of various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds in both specialist health services (justice, family violence), schools (from Prep to Year 12) and specialist mental health services (adult residential services). I also facilitate group wellbeing programs for individuals & businesses, and have co-facilitated group workshops focused on teaching people practical skills to manage distress. I work best with people who are ready to take what we discuss in session, and implement this in their lives. I am a Director on the board with Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi).

Struggling to figure out what to do; how to be happy; why you cannot move on from relationships or what changes you should make to switch jobs. Wondering why you don't feel good about yourself. Anxiously going over past events. Exhausted by simple day to day life. Lacking motivation. Fearful of the future. It is possible to live without these feelings, to feel good instead of just 'managing'. These are things can be helped by talking to someone who does not know you; your family or your friends. Someone who can listen without judgement and help you sort out feelings of being lost or stuck, or just plain not happy.
I have a passion for supporting men and young men in the ever changing world we now live in. The rules are changing rapidly and sometimes it is difficult to know how to make sense of it all and yet be true to ourselves. Learning how to stay safe in a world of family and interpersonal violence, substance use, grief and loss and so many other stresses, when we feel isolated and alone, is challenging and this is where I can help. I support couples and individuals too.

Hi, I'm Chris, I am relationship therapist with a special interest in working with women, men and couples to improve their wellbeing and relationships. Being a mother, partner and professional I know what it's like to feel the tension between balancing work, parenting and being a partner. After giving everything to work, children and partner we often forget about nourishing and making time for ourselves. My clients tell me that feel like they have lost a little part of themselves, are concerned about the loss of connection in their relationships. I am passionate about helping reconnect with themselves and rebuild their relationship.
When you're overwhelmed, overworked and anxious, you are in survival mode. You're in too deep to think ahead. And it's way too hard to enact that self care plan. In fact, even thinking about it can feel exhausting. What you need is a way to create space and connect back into yourself.

I find joy in working with clients who identify as Christian. I am interested in helping struggling Christians find peace, when suffering from any challenging life issue. I counsel from a Christ-centred perspective using a Bible based approach to suffering. Relationships and life's troubles can cause much grief but they don't have to. There is purpose in all that life throws at us, and our reactions, choices and behaviours can be opportunities for positive change in us. This change is not just a Biblical formula but God's work in us, to make us become the person He created us to be. It is a privledge to walk with you through this

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Riverside are psychologists, licensed counsellors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualised treatment.
Services offered, education, and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Riverside then may specialise in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counselling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.
Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.
