I specialise in Women's Mental Health and Parenting/Relationship Struggles.
My ideal client is a woman who feels like she's lost herself in the midst of motherhood, relationships, responsibilities, or just trying to keep up with life. She might be snapping over little things, feeling guilty afterward, overwhelmed by the mental load, or grieving the version of herself that existed before children. Often, she's the one holding it together for everyone else but inside, she feels like she's running on empty. She wants to stop yelling, find time to do the things she loves, stop second-guessing everything, have a conversation with her partner that lasts longer than 5 seconds, and simply just, breathe!

My areas of focus include trauma, attachment and relationship work, couples counselling, perinatal and parenting counselling.
Clients seek me out when they are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly struggling, often functioning well on the outside while feeling disconnected, anxious, or uncertain inside. They may be experiencing difficulties in their relationships, navigating parenthood or the perinatal period, recovering from complex or relational trauma, or noticing repeated patterns in how they relate to others that leave them feeling hurt, unseen, or alone. I offer a space where individuals and couples can be deeply heard, and explore their inner world to make sense of their experiences and work on a pathway to the highest quality of life.

Going through something big? Feeling lost, alone or overwhelmed ? Being heard, held and understood helps and calm our nervous system and build our sense of self. From a strong sense of self, we are more empowered: from a clear-headed place we can make better choices. Change comes in many forms—moving countries, questioning who you are, ending a relationship, navigating menopause, facing illness, or grieving someone you love However it arrives, change can unsettle us. Sometimes it’s chosen. Sometimes it isn’t.

Offering counselling for children, teens, individuals & families, '& Pause Counselling & Therapy' aims to create a space where you can push pause on the demands of study or work, the expectations of friends & family, or the ache and weight of a long carried load, & be listened to, heard, and valued as an individual. Where you can be still and refill emotionally, mentally, physically, & spiritually, giving you space to breathe; time to rest, reflect and reassess. Time to step back, think, let things go, & recalibrate in order to for you to thrive, not just ‘survive’. Gaining greater insight and understanding; a fresh new perspective.

The couples that I work with initially describe themselves as feeling "stuck." This might be patterns of behaviours or relationships, feeling weighed down or overwhelmed by trauma, self-doubt, or disconnection from their emotions and body. Sometimes it is navigating the complexities of relationship challenges or neurodivergence. Most of the time what they truly want is to feel lighter, calmer, safer and more in control of their lives. Therapy offers a space to explore these needs and to move toward the life they imagine for themselves.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
