About

We all go through tough and challenging times. Perhaps this is the first time you've struggled mentally or emotionally and your feeling overwhelmed, stressed and under resourced to know what to do. Maybe you haven't bounce back as well as you hoped. Perhaps your previous style of coping and managing is no longer working. Whether you are grieving, having difficulty in relationship or navigating change, I can help. What you need is somewhere to work through all these feelings, experiences, and new realities. A space to speak your truth, build new skills, express your feelings and reconnect with yourself, your desires and goals.
I like to view counselling as a constructive conversation that brings about acceptance, choice and new opportunities. Professional support during critical moments can be the most effective and impactful way to bring about meaningful change in a persons life. Through counselling inner peace, improved relationships, healing and personal growth are possible.
I know both personally and professionally that life can be tough, messy and throw the occasional curve ball. I am empathic, openminded and friendly and would love to get to know you and support you professionally. I offer one on one, couples and group therapy with a range of appointments times available. I welcome all enquires and questions.

Tanya Hosken's Groups

Young people living with a life long condition

This group is facilitated as a Yalom style group that works with what the group members organically bring to each session. It runs each term for 10 weeks. Research has found that group therapy is a highly effective form of therapy and is powerful tool to bring about meaningful change. The group acts as a microcosm, where group members can share, grow, get/offer support and develop their interpersonal skills. With time they will then take these new skills, perspectives and understandings and integrate them into the macrocosm (the world). Group offers validation, understanding, interpersonal feedback, encouragement and support.
