Hello, I'm Joanna and I own and operate Talking Heads Counselling - an Adelaide Hills counselling service offering sessions in a cosy private cottage, in-school, via tele-health or outside in the fresh air. I aim to provide a safe, comfortable and relaxed space for children, adolescents and young adults (aged 5-25) to work through life's challenges. Enquiries for individuals outside of this age range will be considered on a case by case basis. Sometimes Collin and Phil the friendly dachshunds come to sessions too! I have a strong focus on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, which can be particularly beneficial when working with children, adolescents and young adults. I have a genuine interest to get to know my clients individually and, most importantly, have the desire to create a positive, supportive and confidential service!
The therapeutic relationship is the strongest predictor of therapeutic success, so it is my number one priority to ensure you feel heard, respected and cared for during each counselling session. I strongly believe that "one size does not fit all", and that it's important to seek support from someone you want to talk to, and that is helpful to you.
