I have special interests in providing therapy to adults experiencing anxiety (panic or social), often on a background of trauma or difficult childhood experiences, and sometimes with substance use. Finding direction and purpose, overcoming depressed mood, and reducing relationship and work pressures are also common challenges that I assist with. I offer strategies useful for managing overwhelming feelings so that you can have more choice in how to respond to stress.
Some people have reached their therapy goals within 10 sessions. For others, ongoing support is needed and provided across the years. As an endorsed Clinical Psychologist, the Medicare rebate if attending with a GP referral is $129.50 per session.
Some ideas about therapy: therapy is different for everyone. There is no one approach that suits all. Progress will happen in your own time frame, when ready. Often, there is no finish line. Nobody can force you to change or do the work for you. Recovery is a bumpy upward process. If you're moving in a bumpy downward direction, it is time to come back in.
