Shame and fear can be so pervasive that we build a sense of who we are around them. I'm there as people peer behind those layers and find who they are underneath. Whether through a shocking event late in life, a relationship breakdown, a great loss, or a general apathy creeping in, making it into the therapy space as a client is a big step. It takes immense courage and it's my privilege to be with people in their vulnerability. We move at your pace and attend to you in ways you have always needed but perhaps have not received before. Through the relationship we build and through your supported exploration, new life can emerge.
I work relationally, drawing on psychodynamic, somatic (body-based) and existential psychotherapy. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore the deeper stories, emotions and patterns that have shaped your life, body, perceptions and thinking. We move with the understanding that you come from a lineage and are impacted by the world around you.
Therapy takes place in a small mudbrick cottage in the bush (10 mins from Daylesford) which offers the possibility of sessions outside. Working online can also include a nature-based approach for those who feel drawn to it. My aim is that you feel supported and empowered to navigate your life with greater clarity.
