About
Hi, I’m Sophie. My doors are always open to new clients seeking a safe and warm space to begin a positive journey towards change. I am a trusted and professional Counsellor with a Masters in Counselling (Monash University) and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Australian College of Applied Psychology) . I am trained in Mental Health First Aid (Mental Health First Aid Australia) and also work part time as a School Counsellor. My top priority is to establish respectful relationships with my clients. With this open-minded approach I create a personalised path to resolve various issues for adolescents and adults.
This includes helping people with problematic behaviours, habits, beliefs, feelings and relationship turmoil. I also provide professional support for people experiencing anxiety, grief and adapting to change. I have experience in working with: depression, anxiety, school refusal, eating disorders, trauma and attachment and suicide ideation and self harm.
In the first session we will set the foundation for our work together. I'll enquire about your present-day circumstances (lifestyle, relationships, career, etc.), what brought you to therapy, and your past experiences with mental illness. We'll explore your expectations and therapy goals as we summarise the major issues, together. Call now to discuss.
