Welcome, I’m Sonia, a warm, compassionate and open-minded counsellor. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative and strength-based, listening and tailoring my approach around your needs. My aim is to help you manage life's challenges with self-compassion and self-kindness. I work with both adults and adolescents, specialising in trauma, PTSD and C-PTSD, domestic and family violence, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, difficulties with boundaries, family estrangement and shame. Supporting my clients with communication and interpersonal relationships is a special interest of mine.
Experienced in both individual and group therapy, I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities including ACT, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion based therapies. As an experienced trauma-sensitive yoga teacher I often incorporate somatic therapy tools and interventions in sessions to assist in nervous system regulation.
My hope is that you will feel safe, supported and validated in my presence. I value being welcoming and non-judgmental, recognising the enormous courage it takes to seek therapy. I invite you to contact me for a free, confidential chat.
