I offer counselling for people with BPD or PTSD in trauma informed therapy with empathy and compassion, caring and respect. I enjoy working in couples counselling and family therapy helping clients reconnect with each other with communication skills and conflict resolution. As well I help support people with depression and anxiety and life's stressors in the present moment. I offer grief and loss counselling helping people find a sense of acceptance and completion. Work issues, lifestyle issues and making lifestyle changes is something I can help the client explore in a safe and focussed environment.
I love working with people with BPD, helping clients understand their emotional responses and how their lives have evolved. As well, I offer couples counselling helping clients (LGBTIQ and heterosexual couples) with relationship difficulties recognise and untangle patterns of ineffective communication and learn how to recommunicate with each other.
I have a recovered lived experience of Borderline Personality Disorder which helps me relate to a client's experience. I feel it gives me a unique edge in helping clients feel a sense of mastery and control over their emotions. I firmly believe people with BPD can recover without losing any valuable aspect of their unique personality.
