As a psychologist, I feel privileged, to observe & work with the difficult life experiences, which lead individuals to engage in therapy. I believe that therapy is a form of self-exploration & learning. In sessions, I use safe, containing ways to help clients process their thoughts and feelings, gaining insight and understanding, so that they can navigate the world around them, with a sense of confidence, purpose and hope. I help clients develop skills to manage their discomfort, pain, uncertainty and fear, to facilitate change in their lives and improve their overall sense of well-being.
Drawing on a number of theoretical frameworks & approaches, my areas of special interest include assessment, parenting support, training and professional development, learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, trauma, depression, grief, anxiety, ASD and ADHD. I also work with relationship difficulties, divorce, life adjustment and medical conditions.
Initiating the process of therapy is courageous. Adverse life experiences impact on our ability to connect with the parts of ourselves that are resourceful, adaptive & capable. Through the establishment of a warm, compassionate & honest therapeutic relationship, I will share practical strategies to increase your psychological well-being & coping mechanisms.
