Hi, I’m Sarah (she/her). I’m an accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers. I'm a polyamorous trans woman, and I’ve worked in mental health and counselling for about 10 years. I support adults (usually 18+ years) through individual, family, and relationship counselling. In my practice I use a wide range of counselling approaches and skills, but all of them are grounded in the humanistic values of authenticity, non-judgement, and compassion.
I recognise that people are the experts in their own experiences, but sometimes our usual strategies don’t get us to where we want to be. We might find ourselves repeating patterns that that are painful or uncomfortable, and despite our best efforts we don’t seem to be able to break free of them.
I can help you find new things to try, new ways of making meaning and different strategies that might bring about lasting change. I’m able to help with a wide range of issues, but am especially passionate about grief, relationships, gender and sexuality, trauma, low self-worth, self-harm, and suicidality.
