Many of us are striving to be the best person we can. Sometimes we lose connection with that person and the satisfying, and enriching, often preferred life seems out of reach or only for others. We can have this preferred life. It's possible! Sometimes experiences of trauma, adversity and pain form stories around us that recruit us into thinking we can't. Some stories can even invite actions we regret that can separate us from people we care about, even from who we would prefer to be. Examining these ideas and stories in therapy can free up new ways of thinking and living for more fulfilling and joyful lives.

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support isn’t always easy, and I want to acknowledge the courage it has taken to get this far. Whether you're feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or simply looking for a space to reconnect with yourself, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

I get it. You're struggling with balancing work and life and trying to make sense of how to not be so frustrated and angry about the state of your world when it all seems too much. Then trying to explain it all to someone (perhaps your partner) when it gets too much but who can only offer a sympathetic nod or unhelpful advice such as 'just get over it' or 'you're being dramatic!' (which rarely helped in the history of advice!). The problem is not having space or the ability to try and untangle your thoughts amidst trying to just stay afloat in an ever-increasing complex world with competing demands on your attention and sanity.

In today’s society, many factors contribute to feelings of confusion, distraction, and a lack of clarity. In this social-media-driven age, humans are becoming increasingly distant from one another while also forming unrealistic expectations around identity and purpose. I aim to assist individuals in breaking through these societal expectations and barriers, uncovering their true, authentic selves and reaching their full potential.

The client informs my counselling approach, not any theory or modality. It's about making the client feel comfortable and being able to communicate confidently with an end goal in sight. I follow the 80/20 rule in counselling; the client talks 80% of the time, and I respond 20% of the time. With 15 years working as a mental health nurse, both in the private and public sector, I have helped hundreds of clients and I am versed in all facets of mental health counselling. As a counsellor, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for personal growth and healing, helping individuals overcome challenges to achieve lasting positive change.

Many of the people I work with appear capable and functional to others, yet may privately feel stuck, lost, or unsure of who they are becoming. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, being the rescuer, carrying the responsibility for everyone else or feeling frustrated that your own needs remain unclear and unmet. You may struggle with ADHD symptoms, confusing feelings, self-doubt, or a quiet sense that life is not unfolding in the way you hoped. I work primarily with people feeling strain in relationships, identity conflict, cultural or faith expectations, and questions about meaning and direction.

If that sounds like you, connect with me today and let’s journey together. You are worth it! Many of the men we work with aren’t in crisis. They’re capable, driven and doing well on paper. But something isn’t working. You might be shutting down in conflict, carrying quiet anger, feeling disconnected from your partner, or unsure who you are outside of work and responsibility. You want to show up better in your relationships, feel more steady in yourself, and stop repeating patterns you know aren’t working. You may have tried pushing through on your own. Now you’re ready for structured support that actually translates into real conversations, real decisions and real change.

Hello, I’m Anthony, and I’m passionate about supporting people who are ready to make positive changes in their lives. Life can be overwhelming at times, and many individuals face challenges such as anxiety, depression, and relying on old coping mechanisms that no longer serve them. My approach is to walk alongside you as we explore what aligns with your values and goals, helping you move towards growth, developing new stories or beliefs, while letting go of patterns that may no longer be helpful. I bring a compassionate, empathetic, trauma informed approach, along with lived experience, to our work together.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
