Can you relate to either of these statements? “I’m so over hurtful relationships. I’m starting to think I’ll be single forever” "We can’t keep fighting like this. If something doesn’t change we’re headed for a breakup” If you can relate to the pain of struggling in a relationship, you’re not alone. If you’re an individual in relationship pain, I can help you overcome your past relationship hurts, understand your blocks to intimacy, and help you create a successful long-term relationship. If you’re a couple, I can help you resolve long-standing issues and rebuild the loving, intimate and harmonious relationship you once had.

I organically blend my somatic work with trauma trained approaches and modalities such as IFS, Narrative, EFT and CBT.
I work with all adults with a range of challenges. I’m a huge advocate of somatic work for supporting people to understand and shift long-standing emotional and behavioural patterns. I often support clients presenting with: • anxiety and chronic stress • depression, dissociation and numbness • body image and eating disorders • attachment-related patterns • relational difficulties • burnout and emotional dysregulation. I often work with women on a range of issues, and with couples needing relationship support. I also love working with men who need help accessing and expressing long lost parts of themselves.

I also offer parts ( IFS) & plenty space to talk & reflect.
I'm a fully certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner & social work counsellor (NB trans), with over 20 years' experience working in community services. My work is grounded in social justice and liberatory practices that support self-agency, joy, pleasure & empowerment. I have a deep interest in relational & social trauma and use a somatic approach that acknowledges the external forces of power and harm. Our bodies hold protective patterns (or felt senses) in response to early attachment wounds, traumatic experiences, relational disruptions and structural pressures - together we work to safely integrate and release these patterns.

Many people I work with suffer from various forms of anxiety, including obsessive thoughts, social anxiety, as well as issues with body image, relationships, and life transitions. Generally, those I work with are feeling “stuck” and are at a point where they long for or are desperate for relief. I help people regain a deeper connection with themselves and others and support them in moving forward to experience more peace and contentment in their life. I welcome neuro-diversity, and individuals who feel they navigate life a bit differently than others!

I integrate parts-based ( IFS-informed) therapy and Somatic Experiencing to support deeper, lasting change.
You promised yourself you’d stop porn or cam use, but feel unable to. Guilt and shame follow. You may have seen a sex worker and worry about your family’s health. Dating apps take over your time. You feel intense attraction quickly, chasing “the one.” In recovery from substances, but sexual behaviours have increased.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
